Overview of registry |
Various treatments have been clinically applied to multiple sclerosis and optic neuromyelitis with the recent advances, however, diagnosis or assessment of activity by blood tests is not yet possible and blood biomarkers useful for elucidation of the pathology are desired. There is no radical treatment available for progressive multiple sclerosis. Accordingly, it is required to understand the accurate number of patients in advance to promote study of pathology and development of biomarkers, treatment drugs and treatments. This is a multicenter study to establish the disease registry with EDC (Electronic Data Capture) system for construction of the system allowing rapid accumulation of patients. In specific, clinical information on adult patients aged 20 years and older with differential diagnosis of multiple sclerosis or optic neuromyelitis is obtained from their medical records and registered in the database established by RedCAP.
